Top 10 Galapagos Yachts
Our list of the Top 10 Galapagos Yachts for 2021
Exploring the Galapagos at its most abundant and serene.
VIP Journeys welcomed clients back to the Galapagos this Spring in the age of Covid-19 on the Theory, Infinity and Elite Luxury Yachts offering pristine settings in the recently re-opened Galapagos Islands.
After having a year of no visitors from abroad and only a few local Ecuadorians visiting sporadically, the extraordinary marine life was curious, bountiful, and unforgettable as ever.
Michael Eiseman the Co-founder of VIP Journeys says “Fewer clients are booking the Galapagos now than pre-Covid, however, we are seeing a huge paradigm shift towards smaller yachts with less than 20 passengers, which is now the safest way to offer a more intimate voyage. Bookings are growing daily as the vaccine rollout ramps up.
During the onset of Covid-19, large cruise ships became the epicenter where the virus ran rampant through ships, and their unprepared crew and practices. As a result, amid all the protestations and grievances that accompanied global lockdown, few people defended huge cruise ships.
There are few places where people can cruise at all right now, and almost none where North Americans are currently able to sail. The Galapagos is one of the very few exceptions. A handful of small-ship Galapagos tours resumed Galapagos trips last August on La Pinta, followed by the Isabela II. Approximately 70 vessels had been offering sailings in the archipelago prior to the pandemic, currently only about six ships are sailing regularly. By the end of May most will resume weekly departures.
We have 10 unique Luxury Yachts that offer 4, 5 and 8 day itineraries that will all resume in May. Over the past few months charter bookings have risen, as it is the best option for those who have already been vaccinated, especially multigenerational families who are ready to travel again this summer.”
The new relaxing of restrictions in Ecuador allows travelers entry with proof of vaccination.
