Day 1: Cartagena

Located on the ever popular and spectacularly beautiful Caribbean coast of Colombia, Cartagena de Indias evokes history frozen in time in the UNESCO World Historical and Cultural Heritage portion of the Walled City and a surprisingly modern port city just beyond. It’s a magical place that spellbinds visitors with romance, folklore, beauty and authentic charm dating back to 1533. From the trendy ambiance of its stylish beach communities to the alluring hustle and bustle of Old Town, Cartagena is home to a friendly and warm people and irresistible mix of Afro-Caribbean culture. During your long weekend in this internationally-renowned city, you’ll reimagine Colonial Cartagena and make beguiling memories in the luxury boutique hotel Casa San Agustin. Here, you’ll experience an intimate yet opulent trio of historic buildings that have been restored to accent the city’s lively Caribbean atmosphere and fresh style. The hotel includes six large suites and 24 additional guest rooms in the heart of Cartagena’s walled Old Town. Once you’ve checked into Casa San Agustin, you’ll enjoy your evening at leisure, whether you choose to venture out and explore Old Town or stay in for the evening. Should you decide to stay in, you may like to take a dip in your private Jacuzzi or plunge pool (in select rooms) or experience a culinary odyssey at the hotel’s Alma Restaurant and Bar at Alma. Trendsetting locals, who love the fresh ingredients and sophisticated menu, often are spotted here dining al fresco by candlelight or indoors. Today, your flight will arrive at Rafael Nuñez International Airport, where you’ll be greeted for a private transfer to check-in at Casa San Agustin.

Day 2: Cartagena Live the City Tour

As day two begins, you’ll head out on our specially-designed full-day private tour created to help you not only see the city but experience it like a local. We call it our “Live the City Tour,” and you’ll have the chance to try local street food, grab coffee on the Square, learn about the city’s vibrant art scene through its galleries and, of course, see the iconic monuments and landmarks of this amazing city. In addition to the above, you can choose one of the following supplements at no extra charge: Private salsa lesson with salsa club crawl. Kite surfing or fly-boarding on the Caribbean (not recommended for beginners). Art tour with a specialist. Canoe bird watching experience (this is an early morning trip). Caribbean Rum tasting. Golf at a local course. Bike tour of the up-and-coming Getsemani neighborhood (it’s totally hip). Cooking class with local chef complete with trip to the local market.

Day 3: Rosario Islands

It’s Day 3 of your Cartagena long weekend, and you’re heading off shore to the stunning Rosario Islands on a privately-chartered full-day boat tour (motorboats and yachts available - the yacht pictured is the VIP option, but other boats are available). An archipelago of 27 coral reef islands, The Rosario Islands are only an hour by boat from Cartagena, but they seem a world away. Here, amongst crystal blue waters, you’ll find the National Rosario and San Bernardo Coral Nature Park— home to stunning natural landscapes and a biologically diverse marine ecosystem that’s been called a “marvel of nature.” Today, you’ll sail through the archipelago and watch as the seawater changes color right before your eyes. You’ll stop along the way for snorkeling, lunch and some lounging on a private beach. The day’s totally private itinerary includes (times may be adjusted and the program is flexible, so please ask your captain for any changes you might like): 8am: Pick up at Casa San Agustin. 8:30am: Board the boat to sail the Caribbean. 10am: Snorkeling around the islands (locations determined by skill level). 11am: Sail the Caribbean while enjoying cocktails, snacks and fruit onboard with a private chef. 12pm: Enjoy oceanfront lunch and relaxation at a local beach resort. 3pm: Return to Cartagena and Casa San Agustin for your evening at leisure.

Spend your morning and early afternoon at leisure to rest and relax at the hotel or explore one of the most beautiful cities in the world on your own. There are Colonial mansions and enormous cathedrals, the modern skyline, ancient fortifications, scenic coast and bays and iconic landmarks and monuments to discover. In the early evening, you'll reconvene in the lobby at Casa San Agustin for a private walking tour tailored to your preference. Want to learn more about the city’s history? We’ve got your covered. Rather eat and drink your way through the city? We can make sure you sip and taste with the best of them. Do markets, street art, literature, fashion or some other theme float your proverbial boat? Just let us know, and we’ll plan a great walking tour just for you.
