Neymar: Is Brazil Star the Next Pele, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Rolled Into One?
Brazil World Cup Spotlight: Agents learning about World Cup trending.
Brazilian starlet Neymar has had to put up with the billing “the next Pele” almost since he made his debut for his country in 2010 in the unlikely surroundings of East Rutherford, New Jersey. Needless to say, the man born Neymar da Silva Santos Junior, scored and, in a country which demands footballing heros, expectations soared. Neymar delivered at the Confederations Cup with a demolition job on world champions Spain. “I am really happy. We made a lot of people happy, but we must keep our feet on the ground,” said the star.
Pele may have set the bar impossibly high – one thing Neymar can never do is win a World Cup winners medal at the age of 17 – at that age he was just breaking into the side at Santos, Pele’s old club. And he also was unable to help the auriverde break their Olympic duck at last year’s London games.
Neymar’s debut with Barcelona has been steller. He is starting and scoring along side the worlds greats like Leonel Messi, Fabragas and Xavi.
Neymar will be just one superstar to follow during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, be on the lookout for VIP Tour Groups monthly Soccer Star update!!
